Pocono Mountain Lake Forest - Roads and Maintenance

Road Committee updates. March 18, 2024

Fellow PMLF Residents,

As Spring quickly approaches, Road Committee volunteers as well as your Board of Directors are busy planning this year's road rebuild and maintenance projects. Road projects are prioritized based on several factors, most notably the number of residents that a particular stretch of road services, as well as the severity of the damage to the road being considered. Main roads in the community are a priority as restoring them benefits all residents, but the condition of some of our secondary roads demands attention as well. With limited funds and the high cost of road construction and materials, we have to always try and make the most of every dollar that we take in from resident dues. Your Board of Directors is committed to using every available resource to rebuild our community, in particular to restore our extensive system of roads. The following is a list of projects by Gate that we have compiled so far. The list may change as of course we work to accommodate the constant assault by mother nature, and in most cases work will be performed on sections of these roads, not the entire length:

Gate 1
  • Willow Dell Drive
  • Country Club Road to Beach
  • Mahogany Drive
  • Meyers Drive, in particular the curve
Gate 2
  • Fox Road
  • Caribou Road
  • Robin Lane
  • Weasel Road
  • Lake Forest Drive beyond Caribou
Gate 3
  • Seneca Trail

With a combination of professional road rebuild which will include drainage work, road work performed by the water company in Gate 2, and our pool of about a dozen dedicated volunteers willing to do hard physical work to benefit the entire community, we should be able to make significant improvements to our road system by this Fall. The lion's share of the work will of course depend on dues collected. Please do your part and continue to invest in the recovery of our community by staying current with your dues, and encourage your neighbors to do so. Lastly, please consider joining the ranks of volunteers and help us help everyone. Questions, concerns, and suggestions should be sent to roads@pmlfcommunity.com.

Thank you.
